I mentioned in my last post that we have converted over to an Agile Methodology in our development group to allow us to become more adaptive in the way Changepoint is developed. I believe I also mentioned that Changepoint’s project worksheet was our team’s first Agile development project. What I neglected to mention was the fact that our team also served as beta testers for the Changepoint Agile Accelerator, a quick start solution that was created by our Field Enablement team hand in hand with our team’s move to Agile.
The Agile Accelerator is essentially created for teams new to Agile projects, who don’t want to reinvent the wheel and who want to get up and running in an Agile environment quickly. It includes best practices for managing development backlogs and for adding requirements to sprints. It has a SCRUM project template, offers sprint management configuration, artifact configuration and a whole host of Agile-type reports including burn up and burn down reports, task boards and sprint task detail. We use the Agile Accelerator to get up and running on all our projects now, just as our customers use the Accelerator to enhance their efficiency with the Agile Accelerator.
It’s just another example of how we “drink our own champagne” here on the development team and use our own products and solutions on a day-to-day basis. I like to believe that customers appreciate hearing that we are believers and active users of the product we develop.
